Tane Mahuta, God of the forest, a majestic tree standing in the depths of the Waipoua Forest.  There is really no subsititute for journeying and seeing for oneself.  The smell of the forest, tangle of vegetation, birdsong, the soaring heights......you don't just walk by it.
