Walks of Art in the city

Starting February 2012 – bookings accepted now 

ArtExplore Walks of art will take you to galleries, corporate, public, street art and art studios - tucked away in Auckland's precincts: buildings, little streets and lanes.  You will be guided by knowledgeable ArtExplore consultants, learn from gallerists, educators and artists; discovering some of the unique art and fabulous art community in the city.  No two walks are the same: Themes and content are in relation to what is happening in the art world in the city at that time.

Know nothing about art, appreciating art, or collecting art, you will enjoy this experience, extending and deepening your take on contemporary art.    

If you are a group, an individual visiting Auckland or an Aucklander then join us

Two hour walks and four hour walks (can include some public transport).

Option: 2 Hour Walk of Art in the city.  Fridays  1 pm  Start with getting to know each other over coffee.  At the end of the Walk of Art in the city, finish with coffee and receive your Take Home Pack. 

Option: 4 Hour Walk of Art in the city.  Saturdays  1pm.  Start with getting to know each other over coffee, after hours of waliking, finish with refreshments and a good long talk so everyone has an opportunity to discuss their responses.  Recieve your Take Home Pack.

How Many? Walk of Art have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8.   Early Booking Recommended.

How Much? 

2 Hour Walk: $55 (NZD) including GST per person.  Includes coffee at beginning and end, sun block or umbrella loan, and Take Home Pack.

4  Hour Walk: $95 (NZD) including GST per person.  Includes coffee at beginning, refreshments at the end, public transport costs, sun block or  umbrella loan and  Take Home Pack. 

Booking:  Go to the 'Book Now' section of the menu or contact us.  Bookings are confirmed on payment.  Please bring your receipt with you.

Payment Options: Pay online through Paypal with VISA, Mastercard etc, or arrange payment by direct contact with ArtExplore. 

Cancellations:  Once payment has been made and your booking is confirmed, refunds are not available.  If you are unable to attend, ArtExplore is happy to provide a vouicher that is valid for 6 months.  If ArtExplore is forced to cancel a booked tour, payments will be fully refunded.

Venue:  ??  Our Walks of Art in the city are always changing.  The meeting place is in the inner city of inner city suburbs.  The meeting place is revealed on the day of the walk.  You will be notified of the meeing place by text, email, phone in the previous 24rs before the walk. 

Take Home Pack: Includes information about Auckland Art, suggested reading, upcoming activities, subscribe to our newsletter about upcoming special tours and events and our blog about the changing Auckland Art Scene.

Handy Hints:  Comfortable walking shoes or sandals are a must (no dress shoes).  Eat before the tour.  You will start and finish with a drink.   ArtExplore will provide: sunblock or umbrellas as required.
